The 13th annual 93.1 RED FM Gurpurab Radiothon is set for Tuesday, November 12th, 2019
100 per cent of every donation goes directly to Surrey Hospital Foundation, as RED FM generously supports this event and donates the airtime.
Now in its 13th year, the RED FM Gurpurab Radiothon is one of the most successful in Canada.
The RED FM radiothons began in Surrey in 2007 at 93.1 RED FM, and added annual radiothons at 106.7 RED FM in Calgary in 2014.
The goal for this year’s Radiothon is to renovate and upgrade equipment in the Mata Tripta Family Birthing Unit at Surrey Memorial Hospital.
The goal is to raise $550,000 to update the family birthing unit, named by the community after a successful Gurpurab Radiothon in 2012.
On the occasion of the 550th anniversary of Guru Nanak’s birth, SHF is pleased that the community is honouring Mata Tripta by supporting an upgrade to this busy unit.
Equipment purchases will include 2 infant resuscitation warmers with required accessories; 3 Bili Meters with photo therapy lights and blankets to treat and cure jaundice; 10 specialty devices to help women during labour; milk warmers, breast pumps and a variety of other pieces of equipment that will ensure each room is fully outfitted for delivery.
It will also provide a refresh of the unit, including sleeper chairs so both parents and baby can stay together to create the important initial family bond.
