Blankets, socks, and undergarments – the basic necessities in a person’s life can make a world’s difference. We recently received an incredible donation from Jax and Lennon of 200 blankets, 50 pairs of socks, 50 pairs of underwear, and 50 bralettes for the Forensic Nursing Program!
Established in 1992 and celebrating their 30th anniversary this year, our Forensic Nursing Program at Surrey Memorial Hospital sees approximately 20-25 patients per month. This important program was the first of its kind in BC and second in Canada when it was launched. It focuses on educating nurses in gathering legal forensic evidence while also providing supportive, confidential nursing care to sexual violence patients. Oftentimes, patients seen by the Forensic Nursing Program will be asked to surrender their clothes for evidence. With this donation from Jax and Lennon, our staff will be able to provide these patients with comfortable clothing to leave with.
Thank you to the team at Jax and Lennon for this amazing donation that will support sexual violence patients and the staff that cares for them. Every donation makes a difference and we are grateful to have a community that supports life-changing health care.
