The support of our donors enables us to provide important equipment of all sizes to our hospital teams. We recently purchased 3 new vein finders for the Acute Medicine Unit, which sees patients with a variety of complex medical needs.
The Acute Medicine Unit is a large medical unit with 44 beds, and often treating approximately 50 patients at any given time. The vein finder has many benefits for both patient care and staff as it is used on a daily basis with most of the patients in this unit needing intravenous therapy. This equipment allows staff to verify vein patency accurately. It empowers staff with the confidence in finding the vein which ultimately, makes the patient feel less anxious.
Thank you to our donors for helping us continue to meet the ongoing needs of our health care facilities here in Surrey.
