We are grateful to the many donors who have provided toys to our hospital patients over the years. Many of you return year after year, with generous amounts of gifts for our youngest patients.
This year, due to COVID-19, we are asking all of our generous toy drive donors to consider donating gift cards instead. Gift cards from Walmart, Toys R Us, Mastermind Toys, Real Canadian Superstore, or London Drugs will light up the face of children on Christmas day and throughout 2021.
Our Child Life Specialists suggested gift cards because it will give them the flexibility to buy age-appropriate, and COVID-19 appropriate toys for children. Gift cards will also help with our lack of storage. Our 20-bed Children’s Health Centre is under active renovation thanks to the community’s generous support. Our playground, Children’s Cancer Unit, and Surgical Day Care area are already complete. We are now working on our Outpatient Clinics. Next, we will start renovating our 20 patient rooms.
