Celebration of Care Gala 2025

On Saturday, February 22, 2025, our Celebration of Care Gala – Tales in the Woods, presented by Berezan Group and EllisDon, brought together nearly 500 of Surrey’s business, community, medical and philanthropic luminaries at the Aria Convention Centre. We are proud to say that our 8th annual gala raised over $1.53 million, launching our campaign to bring the da Vinci Xi to Surrey Memorial Hospital and establish a new regional surgical robotics program in Surrey, B.C.

We could not have done it without the support of so many. We extend our gratitude to our Gala Committee; our Board of Directors; our Event Emcees Sonia Sunger and Mark Madryga; our Auctioneer Fred Lee; our Live Auction donors; our volunteers; our generous sponsors and donors; and all of our incredible guests. Your unwavering support will empower our surgeons to perform life-saving, minimally invasive surgeries for many patients in Surrey and across the region.

The Cause

Thanks to your generous support of this year’s gala, Surrey Memorial Hospital will soon be equipped with a state-of-the-art surgical robot to establish its new regional surgical robotics program.

The Da Vinci Xi provides surgeons with improved 3D visualization and precision control of surgical instruments. Benefits to this include fewer surgical complications, decreased length of hospital stays, and better patient outcomes.

Adding this regional program to Surrey Memorial Hospital will drive surgical advancement and help attract top surgical talent to deliver best-in-class patient care.
